For the first time since its inception 44 years ago, the Ox Roast in the Sonoma Plaza has been cancelled. Sonoma Community Center Executive Director Kathy Swett cited concerns about the record rainfall predicted to hit the North Bay this weekend. Historically, the Ox Roast always falls on the first Sunday of June.
“We are very sad not to produce this traditional Sonoma event this year,” said Swett. “We are grateful to the hundreds of volunteers who have worked so hard to prepare for the Ox Roast.”
Sonoma Community Center staff is exploring the option of rescheduling the Ox Roast, but no decisions have been made at this time. For information, or refunds for advance tickets, contact Sonoma Community Center at (707) 938-4626 x 1.
