SV Chamber names new director

Patricia Shults, most recently with the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce, has been named Executive Director of the Sonoma Valley Chamber of Commerce.

The veteran Chamber professional replaces Jennifer Yankovich who left the Chamber in February of 2014 after 15 years of service.

Born and raised in Washington, Shults has been working in the nonprofit field for over 16 years, initially with an organization she founded and directed serving at risk youth. In 2008 when she took over the reins of her small local Chamber in Washington, she realized that working on behalf of the community, specifically small business, was her passion.

At the Greater Austin Texas Chamber of Commerce, the largest regional Chamber in Texas, Patricia has been Vice President of Membership. Shults is a visionary leader and collaborator whose experience in both small and large communities gives her a unique perspective and skill set.

“I look forward to serving and partnering with Sonoma businesses to promote small business growth and build a strong local economy,” Shults said. “I am dedicated to working together with the Chamber Board of Directors and I see a very bright future for us all and can’t wait to get started.”

Board President Neil Colwell said Shults will be an effective leader for the Chamber. “She is a passionate advocate for the business community and will be a great addition to the Sonoma community,” he said.

Shults starts November 10.
