Longtime visitors to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s department website got a pleasant surprise Monday – a new look and more information.
“This update is actually a full-scale change that is designed to allow us to be more informative and interactive with the community,” Capt. Dave Edmonds said in a statement Tuesday. “Visitors can see live events that we are handling now, daily crime and arrest logs, videos, photos, stories, news, and an array of new information that will be updated regularly.”
Included with the county calls are those for Windsor and Sonoma. Both cities contract with the sheriff’s department for police services.
The department is also hoping the website will facilitate two-way public communication via its new Community Information Exchange board, Edmonds said.
The website’s URL is http://www.sonomasheriff.org.
