Grandma Linda’s, the infamous ice cream shop on the Square, known more for its controversial pink door than their scoops, has closed and will re-open under new ownership.
“With much regret we have closed our doors as we have sold our business. Dawn and I have been a small part of Sonoma for many, many years and have enjoyed owning our ice cream shop,” says Troy Marmaduke, who ran the shop, formerly a Ben & Jerry’s, under the Grandma Linda’s name since 2014. The shop has been bought by the Hencmann family.
Don’t fret, Sonoma! If you are in need of a frosty treat after an afternoon of shopping or dinner on the square, stop by the Epicurean Connection for some Glen Ellen Star ice cream. Flavors include vanilla maple bourbon and malted milk chocolate. Epicurean also carries Petaluma’s Double 8 Dairy Buffalo Milk Gelato, which is some of the finest in the country. Get a scoop of raspberry and prepare for pure palette pleasing pleasure (say that five times fast!). 122 W. Napa St, Sonoma; 935-7960; theepicureanconnection.com
formerly, not formally — sorry. it’s an easy error for spell check to miss.
Looking forward to the new ownership of this shop! The sign says “homemade ice cream” and I’m sure it will be delicious!
