Like many of you, we at the SUN found ourselves scattered to various locations this past week, as the fire and evacuations drove us from our homes. Deprived of reliable internet access, and in the light of information offered by Facebook groups and other modes of communication, we’ve been patiently waiting to get home to Sonoma and resume our reporting and coverage of the Valley.
It will take us a while to regain our bearings. The fires erupted in the midst of moving our office location, so we’re a bit behind. But, we’re here, and now that things are beginning to settle down, planning to get back to our newspaper routine, which for now will be helping to get our valley community back on its feet.
Look for new columns and reflections about what’s happened and where we go from here. Amid the loss and pain, the huge heart of the Sonoma Valley Community radiates strength and compassion, and like all of you, we are enormously grateful for the firefighters and other personnel who put their lives on the line to protect lives and property.
