Celebrates New
Store Opening
A grand opening and anniversary celebration will be held Memorial Day weekend at all three Baksheesh stores. The fair trade gift store is celebrating 10 years on the Sonoma Plaza. The company’s other stores are in Healdsburg and St. Helena.
To facilitate this growth, management changes include promoting Sofie Wastell to assistant store manager of the Sonoma store. Candi Smucker is now in charge of financial oversight, central purchasing, continuity and management support for the Baksheesh chain. Annette Pereira is manager of the St. Helena store and in Healdsburg, Kim Rose Lopez is the manager, assisted by Chizell Gill.
The Baksheesh Sonoma store is located at 423 First Street West.
Free Skin Cancer Screenings
Robin Knuttel, medical director of Sonoma Laser, Skin & Surgery Center and assistant clinical professor of dermatology at UC Davis, is offering complimentary skin cancer screenings through the end of May.
Dr. Knuttel is participating in Olay’s “Skin Cancer Takes Friends” campaign, which attempts to reduce the tragic consequences of undetected skin cancer. According to Olay’s experts, every 67 minutes someone dies from skin cancer. With early detection, most of these deaths can be prevented.
