Konocti Resort to be sold

The San Francisco Local 38 of the United Association of Plumbers, Pipefitters and Journeymen has agreed to sell Konocti Harbor Resort and Spa in Lake County to settle a federal lawsuit, according to news sources. The dispute ran some 25 years and involved use of the union members’ benefit plans to purchase and operate the resort. The union will pay some $3.5 million back into the plans, along with proceeds from the real estate sale.
A deal to sell the property to Darius Anderson, a Sonoma Valley philanthropist and Jack London afficiando, fell through in June after it was announced that a casino was part of the proposed development plan. Anderson was not available for comment at press time.
