In other actions at its No. 19 meeting, the council:
• Appointed Yvonne Bowers and Jeff Baptista to the Sonoma Valley Citizens Advisory Commission. The SVCAC acts as a liaison and vetting committee for the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors.
• Granted to the Sonoma Valley Chamber of Commerce one of the council’s 20 “free use” days at the Sonoma Valley Veterans Memorial Building. The Chamber is planning its Annual Business Expo for March 19, 2009.
• Approved a request to defer a sidewalk installation in the 400 block of Rosalie Drive. The sidewalk was a requirement of a local home-remodeling, but as no others are in the area the project was put off until and unless neighboring homes triggered the same requirement.
• Cancelled the regular Jan. 7, 2009 City Council meeting, in order to give city staff – who prepare the council agenda and packet during the preceding week – some holiday vacation time.
