Three cool things to do this weekend

As the leaves change and the nights begin to cool, enjoy the beauty of the Sonoma outdoors during our famous Indian summer. Whether you prefer a cultured weekend out on the town or a low-key afternoon with the locals, Sonoma’s still got it all.
Here are our top three scenes to see and be seen at this weekend:
1) ‘5th annual Katmandu Fall Festival’
If you’re looking for a slice of the exotic on a not-so-exotic budget, the 5th annual Katmandu Fall Festival in Depot Park, 270 First St. W., will be right up your alley. Celebrate the cultures of Nepal with ethnic food, music, dance and vendors while only venturing just off the Plaza, and enter a raffle for the chance to win a trip to the real deal for ten days. Photo exhibits of Mount Everest will stir your restless soul as you mingle with Sherpa climbers and explore an often-overlooked culture at this much-loved event running Saturday to Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. All proceeds will benefit the Children’s Medical Aid Foundation. 2) ‘Rock n’ Roll II’ benefit
On Sunday, the Sebastiani Theatre Foundation will host “Rock n’ Roll II,” formerly presented at Gundlach Bundschu Winery in June to benefit the WillMar Center, for a second and final performance as a benefit for the Theatre Foundation. Presented by Sonoma Song, the chorus, along with The John Simon Band, will take the stage and stroll down memory lane with classic rock ’n’ roll music from the ’50s and early ’60s. The show will begin at 2 p.m. at the Theatre, 476 First St. E., with general admission tickets at $25 and VIP packages available for $40. Call 707.996.9756 for details.
3) ‘Irish Ella Young: A One-Woman Show’ at Murphy’s
Just a hop, skip and jump away from the Sebastiani Theatre, Murphy’s Irish Pub, 464 First St. E., will host Kathryn Del Chiaro on Sunday at 7 p.m. Chiaro will perform a dramatic enactment of the adventures of a fascinating Irish mystic, storyteller, rebel and California immigrant. The show is based on and will feature excerpts from the book “Ella Young, Irish Mystic and Rebel: From Literary Dublin to the American West,” written by local Rose Murphy.
