The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors sits as the governing board of Sonoma County and of various special jurisdictions such as the Sonoma County Water Agency, from which the Valley of the Moon Water District buys its water supply. The board also directs the Springs Redevelopment Advisory Committee and approves zoning and use-permit issues for the areas outside Sonoma city limits.
