Students in Sonia Casteneda’s and Gene Ventura’s dual immersion classes at Adele Harrison Middle school worked together to create offerings and a communal altar in the school’s library for Dio de los Meurtos. Latino and Anglo students made and decorated sugar skulls, created digital altars depicting the works of famous artists, writers and leaders all while learning about this culturally rich celebration of deceased.
