World Series trophy headed to Sonoma

Posted on December 13, 2010 by Sonoma Valley Sun

If last year your Christmas wish was a World Championship for the San Francisco Giants, cross this item off this year’s list: a photo with the actual World Series trophy.

City Manager Linda Kelly today announced that as part of a Bay Area tour, the trophy will visit the Sonoma Community Center on Friday, Jan, 28, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Groups will be able to get in line to have their photo taken with the trophy by the official photographer provided by the Giants. Individual photo taking with personal cameras will also be allowed, Kelly said.

“The purpose of the tour is to allow for local photo opportunities with the trophy and of course for local Giants fans to share in the triumph of the team,” she said in a Monday email.

The team will announce specific details closer to the event.

  1. I would love to see and take a picture with the World Series Trophy but I teach Pre School…how do I leave the kids?Does it have to be on a school day….how about the weekend when more people would be off work…of course unless you are retired….but who can do that?!Wishing it could be Saturday!
