Props for Rob

For his community-wide efforts to support and motivate Valley teenagers, Rob Wilson, right, is awarded the Boys & Girls Clubs’ Angel Award by CEO David Pier.

The presentation to the owner of the Sonoma Old School Skate and Surf shop was part of the Fashion in the Vineyard event, which Saturday raised more than $40,000 for the clubs and featured a runway segment of youth fashions sponsored by Wilson.

The City of Sonoma had another honor in store, proclaiming Monday, October 1 as Rob Wilson Day. The city council cited Wilson for coming to the rescue of Macdougald Skate Park, which would have closed down without him, ‘adopting’ the facility to keep it clean, safe and open to teens who might otherwise get in trouble. Wilson, the official proclamation stated, is “an excellent role model… his energy is contagious and his ability to engage and bring together the youth and the adults of our community is to be commended.”
