A suspicious woman lurking around Trinity Episcopal Church, dropping random items of used clothing, some bearing price tags, was tied to the theft of $45,000 worth of property.

The case unfolded April 18 when church staff discovered a one of their restrooms had been broken into, and a large and curious assortment of clothing had been left behind. The trail led to a garage on the 200 block of E. Spain St. from which several thousand dollars worth of antique, vintage and high-end clothing, shoes and jewelry had been stolen.

From a photo snapped at the church, complete with stolen fur coat, police tracked down and arrested Harmony Love Bolt, 42, of Boyes Hot Springs. The stolen merch was located inside Bolt’s trailer and returned to its owner.

Bolt was jailed on several counts of burglary, possession of stolen property and a Probation violation. Her bail was set at $51,000.
