A mission-driven gift to preserve America’s food heritage: a membership to Seed Savers Exchange.

A membership to Seed Savers benefits not only the gardener in your life, but, the organization’s ongoing mission to “conserve and promote America’s culturally diverse but endangered garden and food crop heritage for future generations by collecting, growing, and sharing heirloom seeds and plants.”

A non-profit, Seed Savers has collected more than 20,000 heirloom and open-pollinated seeds (veggies, fruits, flowers, herbs, etc.), many which are available exclusively to Seed Saver members.

These seeds, which include over 1,000 heirloom varieties of apples, are stored at their experimental farm in Decorah, Iowa.

Memberships start at $25 and no matter what level, all members receive Seed Savers magazine, access to the seed bank and free seed exchanges, workshop discounts and free or reduced admission to gardens across the country, including Glen Ellen’s own Quarryhill Botanical Garden. seedsavers.org
