Vacation rentals: No

Posted on February 5, 2016 by Sonoma Valley Sun

I am concerned about the Supes (except Susan Gorin) selling us out for fad-fueled dollars that will go away when fashions change.
I remember well the empty resorts in Northern California when Hawaii became the rage – driving out genuine community members in favor of an “industry” that will fade away is a bad investment.

For those of us living here as full-time residents, we face the sorrowful prospect of watching our beloved county torn asunder by a vacation rental bubble still in the act of expanding. Having been betrayed and abandoned by our elected leaders, all we can do now is wait for it to pop.

  1. Betrayed? Have you ever looked at our Community? it’s not the Tourists or VR’s that are causing the Demise of our so called standards. It’s the ever increasing out of control Locals attributing to the Unlawfullness of our Community.
Come sit in my Driveway, watch the Residents of Sonona behaving Badly, watch the Drivers ignoring the Posted Speeds, kids walking home carelessly tossing garbage onto others properties, and again local Automobile Dealers using Residential Neighborhoods for Test Tracks.
Those of us, who love our Community and make a living from these individuals, who seek accommodations to stay here for an honest price, challenge the community to fix their own before you cast Stones at those you have just become oblivious to.
