The Sweetheart Gala & Auction, a perennial sell-out fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley, this year honors Matt Sevenau on Saturday, February 8. Themed “The Best is Yet to Come: Honoring our Legacy, Building our Future,” the event begins at 5 p.m. at the Clubs’ Maxwell Clubhouse.
Sevenau is a successful Sonoma realtor. He’s also a proud Clubs alumnus, having found the then-Boys Club a safe haven after school and for extracurricular activities. His experience at the Club was so integral to his childhood experience and his identity as a Sonoman, when he moved back to town to raise his own children; son, Satchel (16) and daughter, Temple (11), he enrolled them both in summer camps and sports programs at the Boys & Girls Club.
“The Club has supported my kids as much as it supported me,” he says. “I feel so lucky to have this resource in our community.”
The event kicks off with a cocktail reception, followed by an elegant dinner. The gala continues with sweet and savory bites, dancing and a casino.
