The March 3 primary is almost here. What are the important issues for you?
I’m for Measure I –we need that kind of transportation here in Sonoma County and I only wish it went to San Francisco. I think I’m going to vote for Bernie. I don’t care for how he presents, but I believe in all the issues he supports. He’s really for the working class and the middle class. We have too many poor.
Penny Miller, El Verano
I’ll probably vote at the polls. I’m for Measure I, to get people off the roads. Not everyone needs a car. The most important issue is picking someone who can beat Trump. I’m 80% decided that it is Bernie. I’m originally from England, where it’s all over in six weeks, paid for by the government. You could fund a whole country on what’s been spent in this primary.
Vince Mackell, Boyes Springs
I’ve already sent in my ballot. Climate change is the most important issue, so I voted “yes” on Measure I. If we don’t get out of our cars, we’re doomed. And I’m proud to say I voted for Bernie.
Marilyn Goode, El Verano
I’ve already voted by mail; there’s no polling place for where I live. I’m not political-party minded, so I’m registered as an independent, and didn’t vote for a candidate. My big deal is making things happen close to home. I voted yes on Measure I, for the environment, getting people to use public transportation.
Susan Hoeffel, Boyes Heights
I vote by mail. There are so many issues that are critical – the environment, water, the schools. I need to study more about Measure I before I decide. But I know who my candidate is – Bernie Sanders. I like his aspiration, what he stands for and how he expresses it, he cares so much, it’s very moving.
