A treasure of an artist

Sonoma’s Treasure Artist for 2022 is Pat Meier-Johnson. In selecting the award-winning painter for the annual honor, the Cultural and Fine Arts Commission celebrated “her artistic talent, but also her love of community, and generous nature.”
Meier-Johnson has served as an adviser to Teen Services Sonoma on multiple projects, and participated in the #HeartofSonoma campaign.
“My creative process is a love affair with my paints, brushes and canvas,” she says. “What I love best is capturing the essence of my subjects and landscapes and seeing them develop into a finished piece.”
The Commission will host a reception in Ms. Meier-Johnson’s honor at a future date.
