We’ll miss you, Deb Carlen

It is impossible to overstate the positive impact Deb Carlen had on dozens, if not hundreds, of Sonoma-area creatives, particularly writers. A true Renaissance woman, she could compose a phrase, create a voice-over character, or draw a fine-lined figure with equal facility.

Through both her work with others and her own creations, she nourished and honored creativity, a quality not always given its full due in our money-obsessed society.

As if all this weren’t enough, she was kind, devoted to animals (especially cocker spaniels), and funny as heck. I am only one of many who feel lucky to have known her. We’ll miss you, Deb. Godspeed.
