A preview of Sonoma’s Climate Action Plan
The Valley of the Moon Garden Club will host the City of Sonoma’s Community Development Director, Jennifer Gates, on Thursday, January 4, 2024 for a discussion on what Sonoma is doing as a city to fight climate change.
Gates will outline the Climate Change Community Action Plan, its progress to date, projected impact, and tips and tricks we can use in our gardens and homes to further this cause. As a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with two master’s degrees from the University of Pennsylvania. She comes with 18 years of local government experience, last working in Encinitas, and has a focus on City Planning and Historical Preservation.
The meeting will be in Burlingame Hall at First Congregation Church, 252 W Spain St, in Sonoma. Meet and greet time is 6:30 p.m. and the presentation begins at 7pm. Members attend free and a $5 donation is requested from guests, which can be applied to membership.
