Toll for crossing the Golden Gate Bridge is increasing this July to $9.25, and will increase by fifty-cents for each of the next four years, topping out at $11. These increases were approved by the GG Bridge Board of Directors to cover the increasing cost of maintenance and repairs.
As remote work expands, it’s impact on bridge toll revenue will continue to expand. At it’s proposed maximum, commuters will pay an average of $220/month to cross the span. In 1937, the cost of a round trip across the bridge was $1. In 1968, the toll was $.50.
