Nikita Ducarroz Wins GOLD in Barcelona
In a repeat of her 2023 first-place ride in Barcelona, Nikita Ducarroz won the gold medal in BMX Women’s Park Final on September 15.
Ducarroz said that this Urban World Series event is her favorite contest, repeating that comment in Spanish with a perfect local accent. She explained, “This is a competition I always watched my heroes competing at when I first started riding, and it just always looked so fun. Right on the beach, good vibes, fun course … more about having just a good time with friends!”
To win it again was her goal, but “there were some really talented ladies today, so it was a game of who could put down the best run in that moment.” What she enjoyed most was riding with all her friends. Nikita acknowledged “it’s been a bit tough on the bike … so doing a fun event was really good for my mental health, and to show myself that I can still do it and I have more in me. Very happy with this week!”
