Each year as part of its high school graduation ceremony, Hanna Boys Center honors a student that has gone above and beyond the normal requirements of the Center’s program and who has upheld the highest of standards.
The 2022 Hanna Boy of the Year is Kristian.
Called “KD” on campus, the impressive young man came to Hanna with dreams of a job in construction, a profession that honors his late father who worked in construction for years in Jamaica.
“I wanted a place that felt like home, and a spot where I could focus on my education and take advantage of opportunities without having to worry about some of the hardships in life,” he said.
As a freshman, Kristian left Jamaica, his family and his siblings. He came to the US looking for new opportunities and a place he could call home for his high school years.
KD has a paid internship with the maintenance department at Sonoma Valley Hospital. Congratulations Kristian!
