Sonoma Valleys newest citizens

The proud and happy faces of some of the nearly 100 new U.S. citizens who have worked with Sonoma Immigrant Services to obtain their naturalization. Already green card holders, they took this final step to ensure their right to be here and exercise all the rights and privileges of an American citizen. They successfully interviewed in English, passed a written civics exam, and then took a formal oath in San Francisco. For many, one of the main privileges is the right to vote.
