Poet and author Caroline M. Mar has assembled a stellar line-up of Bay Area writers for a Sonoma Valley Museum of Art event on Oct. 16 — Freedoms Found: Writers Speak to the Art of Raymond Saunders
Each has composed an original work inspired by Oakland-based artist Raymond Saunders, whose art is the museum’s current exhibition. The featured poets and writers performing are Mar, Tongo Eisen-Martin, who is currently poet laureate of San Francisco, Tijanna O. Eaton, and Mildred Thompson. In keeping with SVMA’s dynamic live poetry events, each writer’s performance will be paired with a local wine, to create a unique “Flight of Poets.” The wines for the evening are being poured by Lloyd Davis of Sonoma’s Corner 103, with appetizer grazing boards prepared by Cristina Topham of Spread Kitchen. 4pm. $10 Students with ID | $30 SVMA members | $35 General Public. Pre-registration is required to attend. Tickets may be available at the door. |
