Hospital foundation names new board member

The Sonoma Valley Hospital Foundation has announced the election of Ron Franklin to its Board of Directors.
After a career at the Sonoma Developmental Center, which began in 1962, Franklin has devoted countless volunteer hours to state and local commissions such as the Sonoma County Advisory Board on Alcohol and Drug Programs, and the California Licensed Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician Board.

“With a degree in health services administration and as a lifelong resident of Sonoma, Ron is well positioned to contribute his expertise in helping the foundation fulfill its mission in supporting quality health care at Sonoma Valley Hospital,” said Mary Caletges, the foundation’s executive director.

Franklin credits his interest in health care to his mother, Louise Franklin, who worked as a nurse’s aid at Sonoma Valley Hospital when he was growing up.  Today he lives in Sonoma with his wife, Hilda. Two sons and granddaughters live in the Valley as well.
