“The Ecology of the Nile” will be the focus of the next installment of the Windows to the World Lecture Series, Thursday, June 13. Dr. Amer El-Ahraf, a scholar in the fields of environmental health and Egyptian studies, will speak at 7 p.m. at Sonoma Community Center on Thursday, June 13 at 7 p.m.
Named by the Journal of Environmental Health as one of the 15 Leaders of Environmental Health, Dr. El-Ahraf is a professor of Health Sciences and vice president emeritus at California State University of Dominguez Hills. He is a registered environmental health specialist for the state of California, and the past president of both the National Environmental Health Association and the Association of Egyptian American Scholars.
Launched in October, the Windows to the World lecture series offers a variety of perspectives on the seven countries of Sonoma’s Sister Cities: Hungary, Italy, Mexico, China, France, Ukraine and Egypt. Working together, the Community Center and Sonoma Sister Cities Association have presented a series of high caliber speakers.
