It’s all over but the sealing – that’s the word from Caltrans regarding an extensive repaving project on Highway 12 between Agua Caliente and Fremont Drive.
Caltrans spokeswoman Alicia Sequeira said that paving and electrical work for the project’s Sonoma portion was completed Aug. 29. Crews will start a new round of overnight work at 6 p.m. today to seal the roadway, a task expected to finish Friday. Sequeira said Caltrans will enforce a 6 p.m. to 10 a.m. no-parking rule throughout the work zone, with flaggers onsite to direct traffic until the project is completed.
Meanwhile, one-way traffic control will be in effect this week for the Valley’s main thoroughfare at two other locations: at Waterman Avenue in the Springs for water and sewer work from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and at Libby Avenue in Kenwood for utility undergrounding between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Expected delays in both locations are estimated at 15 minutes.
