Last weekend to recycle your Christmas tree

The 12 days of Christmas are in the rearview window and the time has come to say goodbye to the Christmas tree. Pack away the ornaments, take off the tinsel and lights and Sonoma Valley’s Girl Scouts will take care of the rest. This is the last weekend for curbside pick-up in the Sonoma Valley, Glen Ellen and Kenwood. Pick-up is available on both Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 10 and 11.
The suggested donation is $5 per tree (under six feet) and $10 for trees measuring over 6 feet tall. The Girl Scouts volunteer their time, fundraising for troop activities during the coming year.

To have your tree picked up:

• Call the Christmas Tree Recycling Hotline at 707.576.6005 if you have not already received a flier.

• Give your name, phone number, street address, zip code, and date you want the tree picked up. No decorations, stands, or flocked trees accepted.

• On the day of pick-up leave the tree at the curb by 10 a.m.

• Leave your donation (cash or check) in an envelope under the front doormat.
