Sonoma Community Center announces new executive director

Sonoma Community Center has named John Tamiazzo, PhD as its new executive director.

Tamiazzo’s recent work as the executive director of the Sedona Community Center in Sedona, Arizona, included producing life-enhancing programs, services, educational forums, and musical events.

“We are grateful that the Sonoma Community Center’s new executive director comes with a strong background in leadership,” said Steve Kyle, SCC board president. “We know John to be strategic and proactive with community leaders and we are confident the Center’s services and programs will continue to be successful under his leadership.”

Current Executive Director, Toni Castrone, will begin a graduate program at Sonoma State University in late August, and will continue her work at the Center through July 20 when Tamiazzo takes the reigns.

Tamiazzo will continue some of the projects undertaken by Castrone, and incorporate valuable community feedback from the recently updated Strategic Plan into sustainable actions for the Center’s future.

With nearly two decades of nonprofit leadership experience, Tamiazzo is sure to provide the Center with remarkable guidance and success, she said.
