Rich Lee and Supervisor Susan Gorin, backed by Steve Cox, cut the ceremonial ribbon Saturday to officially mark the completion of Phase 2 of the Highway 12 project in the Springs.
“I am particularly proud to carry on the work of the Supervisors who came before me, especially Mike Cale and Valerie Brown,” Gorin remarked.
From there, it was off to Larson Park for a community festival. Nearly 50 organizations, nonprofits and service groups were on hand, plus food and other vendors, games, giveaways and a dunk tank.
A wall mural painted over the preceding week by 20-year-old Sammy Sanchez was unveiled.
“It was a wonderful experience to celebrate the fun, creative, and positive Springs community,” Gorin said of the September 10 event.
