The Sonoma Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees meets the second Tuesday of every month, but has called additional meetings recently to address state budget cuts, including this meeting. The only action item on the agenda is a resolution to participate in the “Stand up for Schools Day of Action” on March 13. The Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) has called on districts to hold before- and after-school events and activities to protest continued cuts to education funding and to call on the Governor and lawmakers to adequately fund public schools.
Sonoma County Board of Supervisors

The supervisors will consider an appeal of a Board of Zoning Adjustments decision to approve a request for a winery at 6900 Enterprise Road, Glen Ellen with a maximum annual capacity of 500 cases per year with no public tasting, no special events, no tours and no retail sales. The supervisors will also hear public testimony on the Stream Maintenance Program Draft EIR and consider a resolution approving the 2009 Update to the Sonoma County Water Agency Design and Construction Standards for Sanitation Facilities.

VOM Water District board represents the general public in deciding issues related to water supply. The board also has the authority to adopt ordinances. The board comprises five elected directors, each of which serves a four-year term. For more information, call 996-1037.
Sonoma City Council
Wednesday, March 4

The Sonoma City Council will be holding a public hearing on the Green Building regulations presented at the last meeting, and will be debating whether to change the name of Sonoma from city to “town.” Councilmembers will hear an update on Sonoma Overnight Shelter. A City Solar Award will also be presented to the city at the meeting.
Springs Redevelopment Advisory Committee (RAC)

Boys & Girls Club of Sonoma Valley
Maxwell Farms Regional Park, 100 Verano Ave.
RAC is a committee that advises Sonoma County on how best to spend redevelopment funds in the Springs area. At Thursday’s meeting, the group will possibly take action to put a façade improvement program in place. They will also look at whether to move forward with installing public art near the Gateway arch and evaluate a proposed retaining wall.
