Holder Ford to close

Chuck Holder has accepted a buy-out offer from the Ford Motor Company and will close his Napa Street dealership on August 31, city officials were told Monday.
Holder, the owner of Ford-Mercury dealership in Lakeport, bought Sonoma’s Bonanza Ford in September of 2008. At the time, he said a down economy is a great time to make a business deal.
As the recession has persisted, auto dealers have been hit hard. To create a more efficient and profitable sales network, Ford is buying out dealers in smaller markets around the country. Terms were not disclosed.
Holder owns the land at 977 W. Napa St. Discussions reportedly are underway already for a new business on the site.
