City attorney steps down

Sonoma City Attorney Tom Curry announced his resignation effective Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2009.
Curry, with the law firm of McDonough Holland & Allen, has served in the post on a contractual basis since May 2001.
“It has been my great pleasure and privilege to serve as Sonoma City Attorney for the past eight years,” Curry stated in a letter to the mayor and council.
“We thank Tom for his service to the city of Sonoma,” said Mayor Ken Brown. “He has steered us through numerous complex legal challenges and provided sound advice to the council and staff.”
The council will begin the process of selecting an Interim City Attorney at a closed session prior to its next regular council meeting on Oct. 21.
