No dogs allowed” explained

Editor: This is in response to the recent article by Bob Edwards, Sonoma Valley Dog Owners and Guardians.
The reason why there are “No Dogs Allowed” signs in the Plaza and other parks is because dog owners did not clean up after their dogs defecated on the grass.  Parents would take their children to play in the Plaza and the children would either step on the feces or sit on the feces.  After some complaints, the City Council enacted the “No Dogs Allowed” policy for the Plaza and ordered the signs to be installed.
