City Hall becomes the first Sonoma structure to receive a QR code plaque, a image that provides, through smartphones, instant information about the building. Commemorating the Sonoma League for Historic Preservation project are City Councilmember Ken Brown, League President Barbara Wimmer, Sonoma Mayor Tom Rouse (with smartphone), City Planner David Goodison, and League Vice President Robert Demler.
The league has produced QR code plaques four other Sonoma gems (the Maysonnave House, Hooker House; Duhring Building, and Vallejo-Castenada Adobe) with the goal of 48 historic structures. The cost to produce a QR code plaque and its related web page is $125.
