Margaret Hatcher, Sonoma Community Center’s special projects manager, designed the center’s Fourth of July parade float – a replica of the 100-year-old building on East Napa Street. The structure, built by past board president Jack Lundgren (complete with faux birthday cake) and carried by volunteers, will be start the parade at 10 a.m., heading south on First Street East from Spain.
In honor of the center’s visionary founder, Dr. Carroll Andrews, members of the Andrews Family have been selected as Grand Marshall. Other parade dignitaries will include Marcie Waldron, Alcaldessa, Thena Trygstad, Treasure Artist, Mayor David Cook and members of the Sonoma City Council, and First District Supervisor Susan Gorin.
