A “splatter painting,” directed by the artist Fr. Bruno Segatta, emerges from a group effort at Vintage Sonoma as the Napa Road facility celebrated its 10th anniversary.
“We wanted to do something fun besides just host a party, so we put down some canvas for our seniors to paint on,” said Marketing Director Lesley Alkire.
The Splatter art painting party helped raise money for the resident “Art for Elders” program, founded and organized by Bonnie and Barry Walner. “Sonoma is wonderful for raising families,” Bonnie Walner said, “but what about all of our seniors? It is time we do more for people in that phase and stage of life.”
Specializing in exceptional personalized care, Vintage Sonoma has 100 residents ranging in age from 60 to 101. A certified and trained staff provides independent and assisted living care with a focus on healthy living.
“We are here to provide the best for our seniors,” said Colleen Kabeary, the executive director. “And we are here to support them in maintaining an active life as much as possible, and to provide care memory care and hospice when needed.”
Many local businesses including Friedman’s Home Improvement, Cline Cellars, Jacuzzi Family Vineyards and Pet’s Lifeline offered their sponsorship for the event. Benjamin Moore- Sonoma Paint Center and Kelly Moore Paints of Sonoma supplied all the paints and the canvas.
Kabeary hopes Vintage Sonoma will continue for the next 10- years and beyond, meeting the needs of seniors well into the 21st Century.
