Party with the Beatles…sorta, at Rossi’s 1906

One of Sonoma Valley’s most popular cover bands, Rubber Soul, will perform at Rossi’s 1906. Rubber Soul performs acoustic versions of Beatles songs, and is one of the few bands that gets away with keeping the Tuesday night Valley of the Moon Farmers’ Market open past its sunset closing time.

Rubber Soul is a mash-up of local band guys – Mark Wilson (PlanBe, Vox Populi), Oscar Mooneyhan (BackTrax), Mark Dennis (Vox Populi, Tsunami), Kat Mooneyhan (BackTrax) and new drummer Dave McKee.

The concert is free, and Rossi’s will be serving up their signature “Sonoma style” BBQ and cocktails. 7PM-10PM, 21+, 401 Grove St.; rossis1906.com.

Hang at Muscardini for a taste of Sonoma Valley

Muscardini Cellar’s Sonoma Valley Showcase is a free afternoon of food, wine…and even yoga. The event kicks off at 11 AM with a yoga session in the back garden at the Kenwood-based tasting room, followed by a reading by Wendy Newman. Newman will reading from her book 121 First Dates which features numerous tales of triumph and tribulation regarding the often awkward, too small of a town, and surreal dating scene in Sonoma Valley.

If yoga and book readings aren’t your thing, there will be plenty of wine to drink and tons of nibbles provided by Vella Cheese and Angelo’s Meats, and the TIPS Tri Tip will be on hand, too. Bring your dog. The event is free. 11AM-3PM; 9380 Sonoma Hwy, Kenwood; muscardinicellars.com

Drink beer, help a young filmmaker

Filmmaker Malinalli Lopez quite her job in the non-profit administrative world to follow her dream – making innovative films that tell the story of Latino game changers in America. She founded her own non-profit, XQL Media, and is raising funds for her first short film, Heart of Leona, a documentary about veteran radio show host Leona Sandoval.

To help raise funds for this film, Carneros Brewing Company is hosting a fundraiser. Guests can enjoy tasty craft beers, including their newly released Sangre de Naranja sour, which was named by Thrillist as one of the “Bay Area’s best spring beer releases.” Additionally, tasty Mexican food will complement the brews and DJ Refugio Mata will entertain. Tickets are $22

Buy tickets online here or at the door. 6PM-9PM; 22985 Burndale Rd, Sonoma.
