Installing the ‘Love’

The outdoor sculpture “Love,” commemorating the one-year anniversary of the wine country fires, is placed on Sonoma Plaza.
Created by Laura Kimpton with Jeff Schomberg, the work embodies “the love in the air is thicker than the smoke” community spirit of a year ago.
The tribute to the resiliency and strength of the Sonoma community is part of the Sonoma Valley Musuem of Arts’s “From Fire, Love Rises” exhibition.
The installation consists of four individual letters, each 6 feet tall and 3 feet wide. At night it will be lit from within.
