Community spirit with a side of slaw

The spirit of good will was in the air Friday afternoon — along with aroma of delicious BBQ food — at The Haven, as volunteers served up a meal for the shelter’s residents and homeless clients.
“It was an awesome Friday at SOS,” said Kathy King, of Sonoma Overnight Support. “Our clients are very grateful!”
The event was staffed by volunteers from Genentech, who organized a new shed on the First Street West property as part of a team outing. The lunch was provided by Rob & Lizzie Larman of Cochon Volant Smoke House.

Added King, “thank you to Jennifer Gray Thompson from Rebuild NorthBay Foundation for providing the emergency bags.”
