How to get that perfect smile

Posted on March 16, 2020 by Sonoma Valley Sun

A smile never fails to brighten the mood of anyone who receives them. According to a study, half of the adults think that a smile can be the most pronounced feature when we meet or encounter another person for the first time. Technology, especially in social media, allows many of us to brighten and fix our smiles in pictures.

However, these superficial adjustments cannot really address dental issues. That is why cosmetic dentistry is now very popular because it can help us achieve that perfect smile we can always wear every day. They aim to make the teeth better so we can give off a vibrant, beautiful smile.

Teeth whitening

When we smile, one of the first things we think about is the color of our teeth. Teeth Whitening or Teeth Bleaching is one of the fastest ways to improve the shade of the color of our teeth. It removes stains and discoloration to create that bright smile. Although there are a lot of DIY kits out there, they are still not on-par with the level with a dentist’s professional procedure. A dentist is more equipped to address the many possible causes of discoloration, and offer the appropriate approach on how to treat them.

Braces

Dental Braces are often associated with young people, particularly teenagers. However, this isn’t the case for EZ Smile invisible braces. This is because it’s around this time that people become conscious of crooked or misaligned teeth. But in reality, you can wear braces at any age, according to the experts at Los Angeles Braces Orthodontist. Be sure to consider the professional background and expertise of your orthodontist, who will asses the overall health and condition of the mouth and jaw.

Veneers

Also known as dental laminates or porcelain veneers, these are great options to fix chipped or misaligned teeth, lengthen small teeth and adjust spacing. They are thin shells crafted from resin or porcelain and are attached to cover the entire tooth. They are also dyed to match the color of the teeth. Porcelain veneers are more resistant to stains and discoloration and they have a more natural appearance.

Gum re-shaping

Improving your smile can go beyond just the teeth. Your gums also play a big role in giving you the perfect smile. Reshaping them can make a significant improvement. The process is also called gum contouring or gingival contouring. This procedure can also be necessary to treat gum recession.

Dental bonding

This process repairs a chipped or decayed tooth. It can also close gaps or improve the shape of the teeth. The process works with a plastic resin applied to the tooth, a technique known as composite bonding Melbourne, which is effective in repairing chipped or cracked teeth – you can see some examples here.

It is then hardened and bonded to the tooth using a special light. The resin will be the same color as the tooth to make a natural look on the tooth it was applied to. It usually takes 30 minutes to an hour per tooth.

These are some of the basic procedures that we can get from our cosmetic dentists. We wear a lot of ornaments or fancy clothes and even fix our faces to make ourselves feel good. But if we’re not confident to give off a bright smile to the persons around us, everything else will just fall short.
