A month of paving on Highway 12

Posted on September 28, 2021 by Sonoma Valley Sun

Caltrans will soon begin paving a 3.8-mile section of State Route 12, starting at Boyes Boulevard and ending at Leveroni Road.

Construction will run 1 through October 30, and includes work on the main route on West Napa Street and down Broadway. To prevent traffic congestion, Cal Trans says, all work will be done at night.

Prep work began September 22: digging out area of failed, broken pavement and restoring it.

Wednesday, September 22 – Friday, October 1
Digouts: Digging out and restoring areas where the pavement has failed on Route 12 between Levoroni Road and Boyes Boulevard.

Monday, October 4 – Saturday, October 30
Working in sections, Caltrans will grind away the old asphalt and add a fresh layer of asphalt in its place between  Leveroni Road and Boyes Boulevard.

After paving is complete, Caltrans will begin striping the highway and adding loop detectors, wire loops in the pavement that detect vehicles waiting at traffic signals.
