Sonoma empties its homeless camps

A sweep of homeless camps, like this one beneath Sonoma’s Ig Vella Bridge, was carried out on September 1. Those encamped in the Montini Preserve and other areas, writes Supervisor Susan Gorin, “were given notice to leave the preserve given the significant safety risks for both the residents and the community at large. Residents were offered shelter space at COTS in Petaluma, or placed on waiting lists for other shelters in the County.”
