Among the topics discussed at last night’s Sonoma City Council meeting were graffiti abatement and enfordcement; development of city-owned Affordable Housing Opportunity Sites; and the state-sponsored transfer of Skaggs Island from the Department of the Navy to the San Pablo Bay National Wildlife Refuge.
Thursday, May 8:
3:30 p.m. – The new Sonoma Disaster Council will meet in the Sonoma Police Department’s Emergency Operations Center, 175 First St. W., Sonoma. Topics addressed include the committee’s scope and goals.

6:30 p.m. – In addition to a handful of public hearings on various rules exceptions, the Sonoma Planning Commission will hold a study session regarding a proposed 80–100-seat restaurant at Ramekins Cooking School. The meeting is held in the community meeting room, 177 First St. W.
Tuesday, May 13:
6:30 p.m. – The Sonoma Valley Unified School District welcomes its new superintendent, Dr. Pamela Martens at a special reception before its regular board meeting. The event begins at 6:30 at the Sonoma Valley High School Library, 20000 Broadway.
