Jailbirds for a day

Eleven local leaders will be jailed today – and, so they and the Muscular Dystrophy Association hope, bailed, as well.
“They get their mug shot taken and all that stuff,” MDA spokesperson Jackie Miller said Tuesday, explaining that while the “jail” is actually the El Dorado Kitchen, uniformed officers of the Sonoma Police Department and California Highway Patrol will be making the busts at the faux jailbirds’ businesses. “We set their bail at $1,600, which sends two local children with muscular dystrophy to summer camp.”
Lining up for the lunchtime event are KSVY’s own Ken Brown; Francoise Hodges, Basque Boulangerie and Café; Celeste Cordoni, Steadfast Futures and Options; Becky Jenkins, Clarbec Wine; Adam Lehman, Kinesio Health; Jon Ballard, Jon Ballard Construction; Alan Wastell, Charles Creek Tasting Room; Scott Anderson, Scott Anderson Landscaping; Tom Henry, Real Care Insurance Marketing; Rich Lee, Arroyo Veterinary Hospital; and Linda Tropeano, Bella Yarns.
Miller said that unlike real jail, the locals will be doing time in shifts between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. “If people want to see what it looks like, they’re welcome to stop by.”
