Sonoma Valley High School seniors Dawson McCahon and Andrea Robledo Cervantes are the recipients of the HWY 12 Properties FFA scholarships for 2016. The two emerged from a field of finalists participating in an all-day field trip to the sustainable farms and affiliated businesses of the HWY 12 Properties scholarship advisory board: Sondra Bernstein (the girl & the fig); Andrew Mariani (SCRIBE Winery); Andrea Davis-Cetina (Quarter Acre Farm); Rich Andreotti (Circle JR Ranch); and Sam Mogannam (Bi-Rite Family Businesses). After a spirited board meeting reviewing the reflective papers submitted by the finalists, Dawson was awarded $2,000, and Robledo Cervantes $1,000.
H12P co-owners/realtors Sue Simon and Cece Hugo will present the scholarships at the Sonoma Valley High School Senior Awards Assembly on May 20.
