World Hunger Awareness Day is Wednesday, April 27, and select Sonoma restaurants will be participating in efforts to end world hunger.
World Hunger Awareness Day is organized annually by End World Hunger 2030, a Sonoma-based non-profit that seeks to eradicate world hunger, you guessed it, by 2030.
End World Hunger 2030 partners with various international non-profits to meet their mission, specifically: One Acre Fund, which supports small scale farmers in Africa; Gardens for Health, which operates health centers in Rwanda that focus on nutrition and healthy eating, and The Garden’s Edge, which provides resources and training to farmers and communities to fight environmental degradation, climate change, and more, in indigenous communities in North America and Latin America.
Tomorrow, the following Sonoma restaurants will donate 20% of their revenues to support these grassroots efforts:
- Community Cafe (breakfast and lunch)
- The Red Grape (lunch and dinner)
- Saddles (breakfast, lunch and dinner)
- Taste of the Himalayas (lunch)
- Breakaway Cafe (dinner)
- La Casa Restaurant (lunch and dinner)
Additional restaurants in Petaluma, Santa Rosa, Geyserville and Napa will be participating. Find the entire list here.
