The artful cup

The Museum Café at the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art has its grand opening this week, with coffee maven Heath Winer at the helm. Friday and Saturday, Feb. 25 and 26, the museum will offer hot coffee, specialty espresso drinks, and Harvey’s Gourmet Donuts. Regular hours for the Café will be weekdays from 8 a.m. to noon, except Tuesday. Weekend hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. “Our hope is that the cafe will provide lots of lively conversation and a place to reflect on art and artists of our time,” says Kate Eilertsen, SVMA executive director. Two new exhibitions have just opened at the museum at 551 Broadway: “Eco Chic: Towards Sustainable Swedish Fashion” and “Daniel McCormick: Iterations of Ecological Art and Design.”
